Christmas in November? (Photo essay edited)

Christmas is a truly glorious time of year and it seems to last longer and longer every year, invading in on November and staying till February. Maybe it's just me but I feel like people just eat Thanksgiving and head out to shop for Christmas, on what used to be Black Friday and which has grown into Thanksgiving evening. Although Christmas is the most cheerful time of year for some, it's mostly getting gifts, I mean who are we kidding, everyone loves gifts. The ironic thing about Christmas overshadowing Thanksgiving, is Thanksgiving is the nudge in the arm telling us "don't forget to be grateful when Christmas rolls around", we then shoo it away while ever so gracefully fighting with a soccer mom for a pair of Nike shoes that we just have to have. What keeps Christmas alive more than anything? Lights and music and about this time of year it is the only thing to see and hear for the next three months so enjoy. In fact I am writing this because I was hanging my Grandmother's lights for Christmas, mostly because she needed my help before I left to head back for school, and I realized how many people had done the same. A few days later I was searching for houses with lights, didn't matter whether they were underwhelming or a grand spectacle, lights are lights, and they seem to keep the people going. With out a further a do, here is some photos of Grand Spectacle that is Christmas lights.

Buckeye Tunes-Translated reflection (updated)

When preparing for this assignment, you have to consider the deeper questions of emoji like “How do they work?” and “How can you translate from English to emoji and have people understand it?”. First let’s look how they work, Emoji or Emoticons are small pictures that show various emotions, actions, and even places. The trick to communicating with them, is to use actions like pointing which can signify “this” or “that”, then using places like mountain pics or field pics as a direct translation. The whole point is to keep it simple for a crowd, because they may see the much more complex interpretations that you use and flip them 180 degrees and see them as the exact opposite. It’s kind of like communicating with someone who speaks a whole different language, that you, your gonna point at objects and use whole lot of hand gestures, as will they, and hope they get at least the jist of what your saying. Because of what I just explained, it makes me think people use them because they allow...

Blog meme (reflection coming soon)

Whenever someone puts there feelings to the paper and decides to press send on the internet it has the ability to be have a cringe factor that will go along with it. For some people it is unavoidable, and for me it's safe to say that I join the group of people who fall in line with that theme. I personally don't associate my meme with comedy, but I felt I could relate to it based on the simple fact that I cringe at myself, and hopefully others can relate as well.

My meme reflection (updated/edited)

If a picture is worth a thousand words, a meme is worth a thousand plus words. For this next post I will be sharing my creative insight of memes, or lack there of. I've always had a tough time with making creative stuff, with my own hands or with my own thoughts. Memes are a form of art, they take a sharp wit, and a fitting image. The biggest thing about memes is there ability to relate to those who see them, the more people who relate are the more people who will pass it on. But like all art they come in all shapes and sizes, and vary in there own created genres. You look at memes everyday and you just laugh and move on, but there is so many genres and within those genres they are interpreted in so many ways. It's so crazy that memes have grown just beyond a way for people to share frustrations, sadness, or whatever feelings, and turn them into humor, now they are a communication between those who like and share each others posts. For my meme I tried to capture my struggle wit...
